PILOT SERVICE · 17 OCTOBER 2026
Privacy & service information
This pilot is not yet ready for general public launch. The operating company/contact address, provider agreements, final usage allowances and retention maintenance schedule must be configured before collecting real customer data.
Who sees what
Visitors can send a vehicle report without registering or entering a phone number. The contact API returns only a vehicle label, optional last four registration characters and whether calling is available. Do not put names or full registration numbers in the public vehicle label.
Data we use
Owner sign-in is managed by this self-hosted service using verified email, a password hash and an opaque HTTP-only session cookie. We store the account identifier, email, verified receiving phone (encrypted), device ownership, notification preferences, reports, delivery results, subscriptions and call routing records. Provider callbacks and audit records support reliability and abuse investigation.
Abuse controls use a keyed hash of a network address rather than storing the raw address in our application event records. Hosting and communication providers may process network and connection information under their own terms.
Calls and notifications
Basic privacy means your contact information is not shown on the web page. FlipPing Privacy is separate: a platform number connects two ordinary phone calls. Communication providers necessarily process the real destination and caller numbers. We do not claim anonymity from the operator and do not request call recording.
Email, SMS and WhatsApp are notifications, not two-way anonymous voice calls. WhatsApp requires explicit opt-in and an approved business template. Carrier charges can apply when a visitor calls a relay number.
Retention and control
The target retention is 90 days for event content, delivery results and call/lease records; aggregate included-minute usage is retained for allowance accounting through the included service period; audit records are retained for 12 months. The independent backend runs scheduled retention maintenance while the service is running. Statutory financial records may need a separate retention schedule to be established with the operator. Phone verification changes disable previous phone-channel preferences until reverified.
Owners can export records, edit notification preferences, suspend a lost plate, and release a plate for transfer. The account erasure action cancels a connected subscription, retires remaining devices, removes owner/event data and revokes shared access. Release a device first if you want someone else to keep using it. A verified controller contact route still needs to be configured before public launch; do not submit sensitive information during the pilot.
Price and cancellation
Hardware prices are test prices and ordering is not open. All service features are free for 2 years from activation with a FlipPing Tag or Plate purchase. All-feature renewal is €4.90/year thereafter. Without renewal, only email and web notifications remain available as contact channels; SMS, WhatsApp and phone services require current all-feature access. Its final minute allowance, tax presentation and operator availability must be confirmed before live checkout is configured. Owners can use the billing portal to manage or cancel a configured subscription; Stripe handles payment details. Subscription entitlement follows verified provider status, not the checkout return page.
Limitations
This is not an emergency response service and does not guarantee that a driver reads or acts on a report. Notifications and calls may fail. When calls are unavailable, use a web report. Real hardware dimensions, installation, scanning and Irish network caller ID require physical/operator validation.
